But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen. — 2 Peter 3:18

When I was in college, I remember going on retreats and sitting around the campfire in the evenings. A couple of guys would usually pull out their guitars and we would all sing choruses. One that I have been thinking about a lot lately goes something like this…

“One day Jesus will call my name

As the days go by I hope I don’t stay the same

I want to get so close to him that it’s no big change

On the day that Jesus calls my name.”

As Christians we strive to grow closer to God each day so that when we reach the end of our days and go home to be with Him, hopefully we will know Him well and it won’t be a big change.

We can grow to know Him better each day, by spending time with him in prayer and reading our Bibles.

Great poem. Lets talk about coming over to do a SPorts Camp thing at your place! We will have lots of expertise in American Football (my son played D1A football at Colo. St. U -- I played at WIchita St. U & in pro's briefly).

A buddy (Tom) expressed interest and is a Tennis Pro teacher + my Daughter/Son and I all play Tennis. My buddy can get Head to donate some Free stuff to bring over (rackets, balls, etc.). Tom taught my kids tennis in Tx, and is a fmaily friend who loves God, and has never done a short-term mission.

We could also do a whole bucnh of Music while there. My Son-in-Law & Daughter lead worship at an Indy Church in Lago Vista. My Soninlaw is a pro drummer in secular bands (he toured w/ Rod Stewart in 2009), my Son plays guitar & writes songs, I play guitar, sing & Produce a series of "Roots Gospel music" CD's that have been very popular among secular folks in Austin.

I can bring other Musicians w/ us as well -- secular & sacred -- who are very good, and good people (most believers, some not).

We're thinking early May. Lets visit.

In Him, greg adkins (we met after your talk at 1st Bapt Austin)

Great, Greg! I do hope you are able to connect with the Whitleys! Have you liked www.facebook.com/cbfinternationals ? As you journey with the Whitleys, I would love for you to share the experience with others.
